1. What is Calci D3-Denk and what is it used for?
Calci D3-Denk is a mineral vitamin combination preparation for the treatment of calcium and vitamin D deficiency states. It is used for the supportive treatment of osteoporosis (disease of the skeleton with reduction in the bone mass) in patients with simultaneous calcium and vitamin D deficiency and/or to compensate for simultaneous calcium and vitamin D deficiency in older people. If you don't feel better or worse, contact your doctor.
2. What should you consider before taking Calci D3-Denk?
Calci D3-Denk must not be taken:
if you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D, soy, peanut or one of the other components of this medicine mentioned in section 6.
if you have too high calcium concentrations in the blood or urine.
if you have kidney stones or calcifying the kidney.
if you have a severe kidney dysfunction.
if the vitamin D content of your blood is too high.
If you cannot move your limbs for a long time or are immobilized (immobilization) and have too high calcium levels in the blood or urine.
Warnings and precautionary measures:
Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Calci D3-Denk:
If you tend to form kidney stones and kidney calcification, or if you occur in your family-containing kidney stones are. By taking Calci D3-Denk, the excretion of calcium in the urine increases. To avoid overdosing, you should take vitamin D preparations with a lower active ingredient content. Your doctor will advise you accordingly.
If you take Calci D3-Denk for a long time. In this case, you should regularly monitor the calcium levels in the blood and urine as well as kidney function. This is particularly important in older patients and if you take medicines against heart failure (heart glycosides) or draining medicines (diuretics).
if you have increased calcium concentration in the blood or there are signs of reduced kidney function. The dose of Calci D3-Denk then has to be reduced or the treatment is interrupted.

Taking Calci D3-Denk together with other medicinal products:

Calcium carbonate can hinder the recording at the same time taken tetracycline preparations (medication from the group of antibiotics). calcium salts can affect the absorption of iron, zinc or strontium. As a result, iron, zinc or strontium preparations should be taken from a calcium preparation every two hours.
Other drugs that can lead to interactions with Calci D3-Denk effervescent tablets:
thiaziddiuretics (drainage means that are used to treat high blood pressure or edema), heart glycosides (e.g. digitalis, for treating heart diseases), corticosteroids ( For the treatment of inflammation or as an immunosuppressant), ion exchanger resins such as cholestyramine (for the treatment of a high cholesterol in the blood), laxative (laxative) such as paraffin oil or orlistat (for the treatment of overweight).
Some cefalosporins (antibiotics), ketoconazole (medicines for the treatment of fungal infections), and scoty tat (medicines for the treatment of prostate cancer):

Rifampicin, phenytoin or barbiturates can weaken the effect of vitamin D3 because they increase its metabolism rate.
Other calcium or vitamin D containing products:
Additional doses calcium and vitamin D can lead to a significant increase in calcium levels in the blood and cause harmful side effects. Such preparations may only be taken under a strict medical supervision together with Calci D3-Denk effervescent tablets.

Taking Calci D3-Denk together with food and drinks:
You can take the effervescent tablet to eat or between meals. Please note that dairy products have a high calcium content. You have to take this into account if you take Calci D3-Denk. For example, a liter of milk can contain up to 1200 mg calcium. This increases the effect of Calci D3-Denk. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you consume dairy products in large quantities. Interactions can occur with food, the oxalic acid, phytic acid or phosphates can occur. This includes, for example, spinach, rhubarb and grain products. If you consume such foods, you should only take Calci D3-Denk two hours after eating.

3. How should Calci D3-Denk be taken?

Don't take twice the amount if you have forgotten the prior intake.
If you stop taking Calci D3-Denk:
Please speak to your doctor if you want to interrupt the treatment or end prematurely. If you cancel or interrupt the treatment too early, the success of the treatment is questioned. Your symptoms can deteriorate again or reappear.

4. What side effects are possible?
Like all medicines, this medicine can also have side effects, but this does not have to occur with everyone.
Occasionally (can affect up to 1 out of 100):
If high doses are taken, there may be an increased calcium content of the blood (hypercalcemia) or urine (hypercalcuria). Symptoms of hypercalcemia include appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation, abdominal pain, muscle weakness, drowsiness and confusion, extreme thirst, excessive or unusually strong urine production and/or frequent urination and bone pain.

itching, rash, hives and allergic reactions. Milk-alkali syndrome (also called Burnett syndrome, usually only occurs after excessive calcium intake), symptoms are hypercalcaemia, metabolic alkalosis, kidney functional disorders and soft tissue calcification.

hypersensitivity reactions. Immediately inform your doctor if one of the following signs of a severe allergic reaction occurs: swollen face, swelling of the lips, tongue (angio edema) or throat (larynx edema). Soy oil can very rarely cause allergic reactions.
Patients with kidney dysfunction:
If you suffer from kidney dysfunction, you can have a risk of increased amounts of phosphate in the blood, the formation of kidney stones and increased calcium quantities in the kidneys.

5. How is Calci D3-Denk to be kept?
