Content of the pack and further information
1. What is Calcivit D and what is it used for?
Calcivit D is a vitamin mineral preparation. Calcivit D is used to compensate for combined vitamin D and calcium deficiency in older patients and for vitamin D and calcium supplement as an addition to a specific osteoporosis treatment of patients in which a combined vitamin D and calcium deficiency was determined or in which a high There is a risk of such defects.
2. What should you consider before taking Calcivit D?
Calcivit D must not be taken:
if you are allergic to calcium carbonate, Colecalciferol or one of the other components of this medicine mentioned in section 6.
If calcium concentrations are too high in the blood (hypercalcaemia) and/or increased calcium excretion in the urine (hypercalcuria).
In the case of diseases and/or conditions that lead to an increased calcium content in the blood (hypercalcaemia) and/or increased calcium excretion in urine (e.g. hypercalcary) (e.g. overfunction of the side thyroid glands, an illness of the bone marrow [myeloma], a malignant bone tumor [bone metastasis ]).
if you have a serious impairment of the kidney function.
in kidney stones (nephrolithiasis).
in the case of tissue calcification of the kidney (nephrocalcinosis).
If vitamin & mdash, d & mdash, mirror (hypervitaminosis d).
Warnings and precautions:
Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Calcivit D.
During a long -term & mdash, treatment with calcivit d, your doctor must check the calcium level in the blood and monitor the kidney function by measuring the serum & mdash, creatinine value. Monitoring is particularly important in older patients who also receive certain medicines that increase heartpeaters (herzhicative glycosides) or diuretic medicines (diuretics) (see & quot, taking calcivit d together with other medicinal products & quot,). This also applies if you have a pronounced tendency to form stone formation. If hypercalcaemia occurs (too high calcium concentrations in the blood) or signs of kidney dysfunction, the dose must be reduced or taking Calcivit D.
If you are prescribed other vitamins & mdash, D&MDash, preparations, your doctor should take into account the dose of 400 i.e. vitamin D per chewing tablet given with Calcivit D. Additional intake of other vitamin & mdash, D&MDash, maintenance preparations should only be carried out under a close -meshed medical supervision. In these cases, regular monitoring of calcium levels in the blood and urine is required.
When taking calcivit d, the calcium and alkali absorption (e.g. carbonates) from other sources (food, enriched food or other medicines) should be observed, since the simultaneous, high-dose recording to a milk, alkali & mdash, syndrome (Burnett & Mdash, syndrome ) with hypercalcaemia, metabolic alkalosis, kidney failure and soft tissue calcification. When prescribing high doses, the calcium level in serum and urine should be checked.
If you suffer from a kidney dysfunction, vitamin D is careful to use the calcium and phosphate levels. In the case of severe kidney dysfunction, vitamin D in the form of Colecalciferol is not normally metabolized. Your doctor should therefore prescribe a different vitamin & mdash, d & mdash, preparation.
If you suffer from a certain lung disease (sarcoidosis), there is a risk of increased conversion of vitamin D into its effective form. The calcium level in the blood and urine should be monitored.
If you suffer from immobilization osteoporosis, there is an increased risk of the occurrence of hypercalcemia (too high calcium concentrations in the blood).
Children and adolescents:
Calcivit D is not intended for taking children.
Taking Calcivit D together with other medicinal products:
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you take/apply other medicines, recently taken/use other medicines or intend to accept/apply other medicines. With simultaneous treatment with certain drugs that increase heartpeaters (herzous glycosides), their toxicity can increase. For this reason, patients who receive stubborn glycosides, with the help of the electrocardiogram (EKG) and by determining the calcium content in the blood, must be monitored by a doctor. Certain diuretic agents (thiazid type) lead to a reduction in calcium excretion in the urine. Due to the increased risk of increased calcium content in the blood (hypercalcemia), it is recommended to regularly monitor calcium blood level while using thiazide diuretics. The absorption and thus the effectiveness of certain antibiotics (oral tetracycline) can be reduced by simultaneously taking calcivit d. For this reason, tetracycline -containing medicines should be taken at least 2 hours before or 4 - 6 hours after taking Calcivit D. With simultaneous treatment with bisphosphonate or sodium fluoride preparations (medicinal products for the treatment of osteoporosis) or fluorchinolons (a certain antibiotic type), these should be taken at least 3 hours before calcivit d due to the risk of restricted absorption of these medicines. The absorption and thus the effectiveness of many other drugs (e.g. the mushroom agent ketoconazole, quinolone, some cephalosporins, iron and zinc preparations, scodust, thyroid hormones and strontium ranelate) is reduced by simultaneous taking Calcivit D. A distance of at least 2 hours should therefore be observed between taking such preparations and taking Calcivit D. The simultaneous administration of calcivit d and rifampicin (antibiotic), phenytoin (medium against epilepsy and against certain cardiac arrhythmias) or barbiturates (sleeping pills) can reduce the effect of vitamin D. The simultaneous treatment with orlistat (a medicine for weight reduction), ion exchanger resins such as colestyramine or laxatives such as paraffin oil can reduce the absorption of vitamin D in the gastrointestinal tract. Systemic corticosteroids (funds to suppress immune defense and with certain inflammation) reduce calcium absorption. During a simultaneous application, it may be necessary to increase the dose of Calcivit D.
Taking Calcivit D together with food and drinks:
Please note that dairy products have a high calcium content. A liter of milk can contain up to 1,200 mg calcium. This should be taken into account when taking Calcivit D. Oxalic acid (contained in spinach and rhubarb) as well as phytic acid (contained in whole grains) can inhibit calcium absorption through the formation of insoluble complexes with calcium ions. Patients should not take calcium -containing medicines during the absorption of such foods.
pregnancy and lactation:
If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
pregnancy:
During pregnancy, daily intake should not exceed 1,500 mg calcium and 600 I.E. vitamin D. In the event of overdosing vitamin D during pregnancy, malformations were demonstrated in animal experiments. Overdoses of calcium and vitamin D must be avoided in pregnant women, since a permanently increased calcium level in the blood has been associated with undesirable effects on the developing fetus. There is no evidence that vitamin D in therapeutic doses in humans has a mistake (teratogen). Calcivit D can be taken during pregnancy if there is a calcium and vitamin D deficiency. Only 1 chewing tablet Calcivit D every day may be taken.
Still -time:
Calcivit D can be taken during breastfeeding. Calcium and vitamin D pass into breast milk. This must be taken into account if the child receives additional gifts of vitamin D.
Road and ability to use machines:
There is no data on the influence of this drug on traffic. However, an influence is unlikely.
Calcivit D contains sucrose:
Please only take calcivit d after consultation with your doctor if you are aware that you suffer from intolerance to certain sugar.
3. How should Calcivit D be taken?

Type of application:
The chewing tablets should be chewed and then swallowed with the help of some liquid. Calcivit D can also be sucked. The doctor decides on the duration of treatment with Calcivit D. Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect of Calcivit D is too strong or too weak.
If you have taken a large amount of calcivit d than you should:
overdosing can go to appetite, nausea, vomiting, increased thirst and increased fluid intake, increased urine excretion, dehydration, abdominal pain, constipation, muscle weakness, exhaustion, exhaustion, lead mental disorders, bone pain, limescale deposits in the kidneys and kidney stones. As a result of the increased calcium blood level, chronic overdosing can lead to vascular and organ calcification. In severe cases, cardiac arrhythmia can occur. If you suspect overdose, please inform your doctor immediately. This may take the necessary measures.
If you have forgotten taking Calcivit D:
don't take the double amount if you have forgotten the prior intake.
If you stop taking Calcivit D:
If you want to interrupt the treatment or end prematurely, please consult your doctor first.
If you have any further questions about taking this medicine, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.

mode of action
How do the ingredients of the drug work?
calcium ions are of crucial importance in the activation of biological systems. A lack of calcium in the blood increases, but an excess reduces neuromuscular excitability. Oral calcium intake promotes the remineralization of the skeleton of calcium deficiency.colecalciferol is physiological vitamin D3, which is converted into the kidney and liver to calcitriol, the effective substance of the vitamin D3. Calcitriol is responsible for taking the calcium and phosphate from the intestine. The recovery of the calcium and its resumption from the kidney vitamin D are also dependent. The substance promotes the mineralization of the bones and thus inhibits their dismantling.
