1. What is iron Verla 35 mg and what is it used for?
Eisen Verla 35 mg is an antianema. Iron Verla 35 mg is used to treat iron deficiency.
2. What should you watch out for before taking iron Verla 35 mg?
Eisen Verla 35 mg must not be taken:
if you are allergic to iron (II)-gluconate or one of the other components of this drug mentioned in Section 6.
In the event of anemia, caused by infections or tumors, unless there is an iron deficiency.
When the body is overloaded (e.g. hemochromatoses, chronic hemolyses).
in the case of iron recycling disorders (sideroachrestic anemia, lead anemia, thalassemia).
Warnings and precautionary measures:
Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking iron Verla 35 mg. In order to avoid the risk of possible iron overdose, special caution is required if dietary or other iron salt supplements are used. In the event of pre-existing inflammation or ulcers of the gastrointestinal mucosa, the use of treatment should be carefully weighed against the risk of worsening the gastrointestinal disease.
Children:
The maximum daily dose of 6 mg iron/kg body weight must not be exceeded in children.
Taking iron Verla 35 mg together with other drugs:
inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have recently applied other medicines or intend to apply other medicines.
The drugs mentioned below are influenced by Eisen Verla 35 mg:
The absorption of tetracyclines, penicillamine, levodopa, methyldopa and zinc are reduced.
The absorption of Chinolon antibiotics (e.g. ciprofloxazine, levofloxazine, norfloxazine, autoFoxazine) is influenced.
The intake of thyroxine in patients who receive substitution therapy with thyroxine is reduced.
Eisen Verla 35 mg is influenced as follows:
The intake of iron is reduced by the simultaneous use of cholestyramine, antacida (calcium, magnesium, aluminum salts) as well as calcium, zinc and magnesium.
The simultaneous intake of iron salts with non-steroidal anti-rheumatics can increase the irritation of the iron on the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract. Iron Verla 35 mg should not be taken within the following 2 - 3 hours after administering one of the above -mentioned medicines.
Taking iron Verla 35 mg together with food and drinks:
Between taking iron preparations and eating iron binding substances such as phosphates, phytics or oxalates as well as milk, coffee and tea should be 2-3 hours These substances inhibit the iron absorption.

iron Verla 35 mg can be taken during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

No special precautions are required.
Important information about certain other components of iron Verla 35 mg:
This medicine contains sucrose (sugar). Please only take iron Verla 35 mg after consulting your doctor if you are aware that you suffer from intolerance to certain sugar.
3. How can Iron Verla be taken 35 mg?
Always take this medicine exactly according to the instruction as described in this package insert or take precisely after instruction from your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is: Adults over 50 kg take 1 - 2 excessive tablets 2 - 3 times a day.
Application in children and adolescents:
adolescents over 50 kg take 2 - 3 times a day 1 - 2 overloaded tablets, children from 12 kg body weight: 1 - 2 times a day 1 excess tablet, children from 18 kg body weight: 2 - 3 times a day 1 excess tablet.
The amount of iron that is to be performed by the body depends on the stage of iron deficiency. Please ask your doctor.
people who suffer from kidney or liver disease:
There is no sufficient data for concrete dosage recommendations with restricted kidney function/liver function.
Type of application:
Please take the covered tablets with sufficient water or mineral water. Taking it half an hour before meals is recommended.

4. What side effects are possible?
Like all medicines, this medicine can also have side effects, but this does not have to occur with everyone.
Occasionally (at up to 1 of 100 treated), gastrointestinal disorders and constipation (constipation) occur. A dark color of the stool as a result of the black iron sulfide resulting is a frequently observed but completely harmless phenomenon after taking oral iron preparations. The other components are: cornstarch, cellulose powder, high-disperse silicon dioxide, calcium carbonate, cocoa butter, povidone (k90), sucrose, macrogol 4000, magnesium stearate (Ph. EUR.), Carboxymethylarch-Natrium (type a) (ph.eur.) Ph.Eur.), Talkum, Schellack, Titandixide (E 171), Iron (III) -Oxide (E 172).
Note for diabetics:
1 excessive tablet contains 0.02 g usable carbohydrates. Iron Verla 35 mg contains no gluten and no lactose.
