    1. What is FOL Lichtenstein and what is it used for?
    Fol Lichtenstein is a vitamin preparation.
    Fol Lichtenstein is used for the therapy of folic acid deficits that cannot be remedied dietetically.
    2. What should you consider before taking Fol Lichtenstein?
    Fol Lichtenstein must not be taken if they are allergic to folic acid or one of the other components of this drug mentioned in section 6. The increase in young red blood cells (reticulocytes) caused by folic acid gear can mask a vitamin B12 deficiency. Due to the risk of irreversible neurological disorders, anemia must be ensured before the therapy of anemia due to disturbed development of red blood cells (megaloblast anemia) that this is not based on a vitamin B12 deficiency. The cause of a megaloblast anemia must be clarified before the start of therapy.
    Warnings and precautionary measures
    Even in the event of a life-threatening megaloblast anemia, a possible vitamin B12 deficiency must be excluded due to the risk of permanent damage to the nervous system before the start of therapy (ensuring serum and erythrocyte samples and determination of the vitamin B12 content).
    Taking Fol Lichtenstein together with other medicinal products
    Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you take/use other medicines, have recently taken/applied other medicines or intend to use/apply other medicines. The administration of folic acid can reduce the blood levels of funds against seizures (anticonvulsiva, e.g. phenytoin, phenobarbital, primidone) and thereby increase the willingness to seize. With gift of high doses, it cannot be ruled out that Fol Lichtenstein and at the same time administered inhibitors of folic acid (folic acid antagonists), such as: B. certain drugs against bacterial infections or malaria (trimethoprim, proguanil, pyrimethamine) and methotrexate (active ingredient, etc. for the treatment of tumors), inhibit each other. With simultaneous use with fluorouracil (medium to treat tumors), serious diarrhea can occur. Chloramphenicol (active ingredient to treat infections) can prevent response to treatment with fol Lichtenstein and should therefore not be administered to patients with severe folic acid deficiency symptoms.

    for doses up to 5 mg folic acid per day, no risks are known. Folic acid must not be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding in higher doses than 5 mg per day.

    Please only take fol Lichtenstein after consultation with your doctor if you know that you suffer from intolerance to certain sugar.
    3. How should Fol Lichtenstein be taken?
    Always take this medicine exactly after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is 1-3 tablets fol Lichtenstein per day (corresponding to 5-15 mg folic acid).
    Type and duration of the application
    The tablets are taken with some liquid for meals. The duration of the treatment depends on the extent of the folic acid deficiency and depends on the clinical picture and, if necessary, based on the corresponding laboratory diagnostic measurements and is determined by the doctor for each patient.
    If you have taken a larger amount of fol Lichtenstein than you should
    If the higher dosage occasionally, no overdose signs can be expected. In patients with seizures, however, there may be an increase in willingness to seize. With high doses (over 15 mg per day and longer than 4 weeks), gastrointestinal disorders, sleep disorders, excitement or depression can occur. In these cases you should contact your doctor.
    If you forgot to take Fol Lichtenstein
    don't take twice the amount if you have forgotten the prior intake.

    4. What side effects are possible?
