1. What is gingobeta and what is it used for?
Gingobeta contains a dry extract made of ginkgo biloba leaves. Gingobeta is a herbal medicine to improve age -related cognitive impairment and quality of life in light dementia.
2. What should you consider before taking Gingobeta?
Gingobeta must not be taken:
if you are allergic to Ginkgo Biloba extract or one of the other components of this medicine mentioned in section 6.
during pregnancy.
Warnings and precautionary measures:
Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Gingobeta:
If you have a pathologically increased tendency to bleed (hemorrhagic diathesis), as well as at the same time treatment with blood -thinning medication.
if you know a blacksome (epilepsy).
if an operation is planned for the next 3 to 4 days.

If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you suspect that you are pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Since there are individual indications that ginkgo -containing preparations could increase the willingness to bleed, this medicine must not be taken during pregnancy (see section 2. "Gingobeta must not be taken"). This medicine should not be used during breastfeeding because there is no sufficient examinations. It is not known whether the ingredients of the extract change into breast milk.

Your doctor will tell you whether your illness is allowed to drive you and operate machines. There were no sufficient studies on the effects on the traffic and operating machines.

3. How should Gingobeta be taken?
Always take this medicine exactly after consultation with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose for adults and older patients is 1% Gingobeta film -coated tablets twice a day. The twice daily intake should take place in the morning and evening. The tablet can be divided into the same doses.
Application for children and adolescents:
There is no relevant indication for children and adolescents.
Special patient groups:
There is no data for dosage in the event of limited kidney or liver function.
Type of application:
Gingobeta film -coated tablets should be taken orally. Do not take the tablets lying on the back. The tablets should be swallowed as a whole (not chewed) with liquid, preferably with a glass of drinking water. The intake can take place regardless of the meals.
Duration of use:
The treatment should be at least 8 weeks. If the symptoms have not improved after 3 months or the symptoms of the disease will increase, the doctor must check whether the continuation of the treatment is still justified.

5. How is gingobeta to be kept?
No special storage conditions are required for this medicine. Keep this drug for children inaccessible. A film-coated tablet contains 40 mg quantified, sophisticated dry extract made of ginkgo biloba leaves (35-67: 1), pull-out agent: acetone 60% (m/m). The extract is quantified to 22.0 -27.0% flavonoids, calculated as flavonol glycosides, 2.8 -3.4% ginkgolides A, B and C, 2.6 -3.2% bilobalide and contains a maximum of 5 ppm ginkgolic acids.
