Apple pectin is the optimal food source for bacteroidetes – those bacteria that support the excretion of sugar from the body. If enough apple pectin is available to the Bacteroidetes bacteria, they multiply and settle sustainably in our body. The supply of viable symbionts (= probiotics) strengthens the "good" intestinal bacteria. It also applies to these bacterial strains that they need oxygen for their metabolism – these are so-called aerobic or mostly only facultatively anaerobic bacteria.
