Content of the pack and further information
1. What is vitamin B duo and what is it used for?
Vitamin B Duo is a combination preparation from the group of B vitamins, which contains vitamin B1 and vitamin B6. Vitamin B Duo is used to treat neurological system diseases due to proven deficiency of vitamins B1 and B6. Note: A deficiency of vitamins B1 and B6 rarely occurs isolated. Before the start of treatment, it should therefore be checked whether there is a defect for further vitamins. If you don't feel better or worse, contact your doctor.
2. What should you consider before taking vitamin B duo?
Vitamin B duo must not be taken if they are allergic to thiaminchloride hydrochloride, pyridoxin hydrochloride or one of the other components of this drug mentioned in section 6.
Warnings and precautions:
Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking vitamin B duo. With long -term intake of daily cans over 50 mg and with short -term use of doses in the gram area, tingling and ants on the hands and feet (signs of peripheral sensory neuropathy or paraesthesia) were observed. If you observe tingling and ants on the ants, please contact your doctor. This will check the amount of insert and if necessary the medication.
Taking vitamin B duo together with other medicinal products:
inform your doctor or pharmacist if you take/apply other medicines, have recently taken up/applied other medicines or intend to accept/apply other medicines.
Vitamin B duo is influenced as follows:
The simultaneous administration of so-called pyridoxinant antagonists (medicines that, among other things, have an effect directed against vitamin B6, such as hydrazine, Isoniazid [Inh], Cycloserin, d- Penicillamin) can increase the need for vitamin B6. Vitamin B1 loses its effect when the cancer (cytostatics) loses its effect. Gastric acid inhibitors reduce the absorption of vitamin B1. A vitamin B1 deficiency can arise for long-term treatment with the drainage Furosemide because vitamin B1 is increasingly excreted with the urine.
Vitamin B duo influences the effect of the following medicine:
Vitamin B6 in daily cans from 5 mg can reduce the effect of levodopa (medicinal products for the treatment of Parkinson's disease).
Taking vitamin B duo together with food and drinks:
Alcohol and black tea reduce the absorption of vitamin B1. Vitamin B1 can be broken down and thus ineffective with the simultaneous enjoyment of sulfit -containing drinks, such as wine.
pregnancy and lactation:
If you are pregnant or breastfeed, or if you are suspected of being pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the daily vitamin requirement should be ensured with a balanced diet.
pregnancy:
This medicine (due to its amount of active ingredients) is only useful to treat a vitamin lack and therefore may only be taken after careful benefits/risk assessment by the doctor. There are no systematic studies on taking vitamin B duo during pregnancy.
Still -time:
Vitamin B1 and B6 pass into breast milk.
traffic and ability to use machines:
No special precautions are required.
3. How should vitamin B duo be taken?
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this package insert or take the agreement with your doctor or pharmacist. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose for adults is 1 film-coated tablet vitamin B duo (corresponding to 100 mg vitamin B1/vitamin B6).
Type of application:
The film -coated tablets vitamin B duo can be taken independently of meals. Please take the tablets with sufficient liquid (preferably a glass of drinking water [200 ml]).
Duration of the application:
After four weeks of therapy, the doctor should decide whether further therapy measures are required (see section 2. "Warnings and precautions").
If you have taken a larger amount of vitamin B duo than you should:
Vitamin B1 has a wide range of application. The long -term intake (months to years) of vitamin B6 in doses over 50 mg/day as well as the short -term intake (2 months) of doses over 1 g/day can lead to neurotoxic effects (see section 2. "Warning and precautions"). Overdosing with vitamin B6 is essentially shown by sensory neuropathy, possibly with ataxia (coordination disorders). Extremely high doses can manifest themselves in cramps. In the case of newborns and infants, strong sedation (calming), hypotension (humiliated blood pressure) and respiratory disorders (dyspnea [breath short], apnea [respiratory arrest]) can occur (see section 2. "Warnings and precautions").
Treatment of an overdose:
If doses above 150 mg/kg of body weight have been taken, artificially caused vomiting and the administration of activated carbon are recommended. Vomiting is most effective in the first 30 minutes after taking it. Intensive medical measures may be required.
If you have forgotten the intake of vitamin B duo:
don't take the double amount if you have forgotten the prior intake. Continue with the application, as described in the dosage instructions.
If you stop taking vitamin B duo:
Please contact the treating doctor. If you have any further questions about taking this medicine, please contact your doctor or pharmacist.
4. What side effects are possible?
Like all medicines, this medicine can also have side effects, but this does not have to occur with everyone. Very rare (can affect up to 1 out of 10,000) can lead to hypersensitivity reactions with sweating, rapid heartbeat, skin reactions with itching and wholesale. If vitamin B6 is overdosed (longer than 2 months in a dosage over 1 g/day), nerve -damaging effects can occur. The long -term intake of daily cans over 50 mg vitamin B6 and the short -term intake of doses in the gram area can cause peripheral sensory neuropathy (mostly sensation on hands and feet) (see section 2. "Warnings and precautions").
